I’m a story producer and manager who’s spent 17 years at the intersection of listening, making ideas into things, and not believing in the virtues of the free market. These days, I mostly work in audio production and editing.
Roles that my peers, clients, and comrades have entrusted me with:
Managing Audio Producer — I can run your podcast or radio show, including budgeting, team building, project management, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic direction, full stop.
Senior / Lead Audio Producer — I can produce your show from start to finish and guide less experienced teammates while doing it.
Audio and Story Editor — I can review your scripts and help you make them better through feedback and hands-on guidance… or I can roll up my sleeves and improve your cuts directly in the DAW.
Development Producer — I can help shape your idea for a show or film into a tangible pitch and flexible plan for getting the thing made). I can also help you develop an audience strategy that defines your ideal listener and maps out your directions for growth and impact.
Junior Audio Engineer — I can manage the technical side of recording, then fine-tune the pacing, fades, levels, and music to make your edit sound fantastic. I am not yet adept at highly technical audio work, but am steadily learning those skills.
Fellowships and grant programs I’ve been a part of:
The Google Podcasts Creator Program by PRX (2020-2021 cohort member)
National Geographic Society Emergency Fund (2020 reporting grantee)
Made in NY Fellowship (2018-2019 Fellow and 2018-2019 Advisor)
Ford Foundation Just Films Fellowship, New York City (2017-2018 Fellow)
When I’m not doing work things, I am out here on the north side of Chicago enjoying Chicago dogs, dogs in Chicago, gathering around a good tabletop game, and bicycle rides along Midwestern lakes and rivers.
Let’s make some noise!
