"Karaoke Kills in Brooklyn," published in Narratively, is a short documentary on two D.J.s who use a weekly karaoke party to forge community in song.

‘The show literally would be nothing if we hadn’t been able to convince a room full of people to treat every singer with respect, and as long as they’re enthusiastic, the singer has done their job, and your job as an audience is to give them the respect of cheering for them.’
